New DG

The Council of Commissioners of the Western Québec School Board (WQSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Dubeau as Director General effective January 1, 2017.

With over 20 years of experience at the WQSB, Mr. Dubeau is bringing a strong understanding of the successes and the challenges facing the Board.  Mike started his career at Western Québec as a teacher in 1993, advancing to the role of principal in 1998.  In 2008, he became the Assistant Director of Education and moved on to the position of Director of Education and Technology in 2010.  He is currently the Director of Human Resources, School Organization & Transportation.

Mike has a Master of Education in Educational Administration with a concentration in Organizational Studies. He has successfully developed a teacher-evaluation framework and process and developed a highly acclaimed induction program for new teachers.

Mike has dedicated his career to the success of all our students and we believe he will be an effective Director General. The Council of Commissioners is very pleased that he has accepted this new assignment. He will continue to be a great asset to Western Québec School Board.

The Council of Commissioners would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul Lamoureux for his dedication and contributions to the Western Québec School Board.

James Shea, Chair

National Addictions Awareness Week

November 13 – 19, 2016
Each year, the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) joins organizations across the country in observing National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW).
