Welding and Fitting
1800 hours – Full-Time Program (5695)
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
This program provides the specialized training to enable men and women to acquire the qualifications needed to work in the field of welding and fitting.
The Welding and Fitting program develops the competencies to acquire the qualifications needed:
- to get into the labour market
- to acquire the qualifications needed to interpret plans, specifications and procedures
- to acquire the qualifications needed to prepare and weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum parts according to different processes: SMAW, CTAW, GMAW, FCAW
- to acquire the qualifications needed to carry out, modify and repair assemblies
- to apply occupational health and safety rules; to control the quality of products built.
PROGRAM CONTENT
The program is divided into the following competencies and includes an on-the-job training period. Adult learners gain valuable experience which should enable them to secure employment upon the successful completion of the program.
