Cabinetmaking
1650 hours – Full-Time Program (5530)
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Cabinetmaking program develops the following competencies to perform the trade:
- By learning to perform cabinetmaking tasks and activities correctly, at an
acceptable level of competence for entry into the job market
- By learning to foster a constant concern for occupational health and safety and
developing safe, effective work habits
- By developing a concern for producing quality work
EMPLOYMENT PERSPECTIVES
Cabinetmaking graduates find employment in manufacturing companies as well as being
prepared to start their own business.
N.B. Completion of this program leads to a
Québec Ministry of Education Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS)
PROGRAM CONTENT
Program is divided into the following modules. In addition, all students participate in an
on-the-job training period. Students gain valuable experience, which should enable them
to secure employment upon the successful completion of the course.
