Document conservation rules and index from La Fédération des commissions scolaires du Québec

The records stored in the WQSB Archives fall into two categories: the permanent (historical) collection, and the inactive documents from various School Board departments.

The permanent collection includes the records of about 100 smaller school boards from which our present School Board has evolved. There are minute books, correspondence, attendance registers, financial statements, reminiscences, school journals, and documents relating to land and building ownership.

Included in the inactive records of the School Board are the non current tax records, financial statements, personnel files, and pay records.

Because of privacy restrictions, not all records are open to the public.
People interested in gaining access to the permanent collection should contact the School Board archivist, and those interested in the inactive documents should contact the appropriate School Board department (Finance, Human Resources, etc.). Former students looking for their high school records should contact the last school they attended.
